Visit Artplace in Denison, Texas
Artplace has an extensive Creative Learning Center. Two professionally trained artists ore on hand to help you learn art techniques in many different mediums and techniques. Classes are available in mixed media, painting, sculpture, and ceramics. Private tutoring can be scheduled at your convenience.
One of our biggest growth areas in fabric sculpting. Using textile hardeners in combination with many other materials is an amazing new and exciting art form.
Another favorite area is metal finishing. Learn to create art out of many different materials and finish them with a true metal finish with patina reactions, paint, and other mediums combined for amazing results.

In an effort to improve availability of desired classes for specific individuals, we have adopted an open schedule on classes. Sitting Figure - Fabric Sculpting using Paverpol medium over a wire armature. The class time will be used for constructing a wire armature, building out with foil, wrapping with cottom fiber to create the basic figure. The figure will then be mounted to a base and clothed with fabric and accessories. The sculpture will be created in a solid color. Dry pigments will be used to add darks, highlights, and variation to the figure. The sculpture will dry to a permanent hard surface sculpture. All techniques involved will be explained and demonstrated as the students complete their own project.

Mixed Media on canvas using Paverpol medium with various fibers and fabrics to create a 3 dimensional painting on canvas. The class time will be used for constructing the mixed media composition in preparation for paint, demonstration of painting techniques. Some painting may be done depending speed of construction and drying of Paverpol. Mixed media supplies and 20" x 24" gallery wrapped canvas provided. Bring acrylics and brushes for painting and any fiber, jewelry, or other materials you would like to incorporate into the art. Contact us for more information.

Intermediate Figure Fabric Sculpting using Paverpol medium over a wire armature. The class time will be used for constructing a wire armature, building out with foil, wrapping with cottom fiber to create the basic figure. The figure will then be mounted to a base and clothed with fabric and accessories. The sculpture will be created using transparent Paverpol and various fabrics to create a natural color figurative sculpture. The sculpture will dry to a permanent hard surface sculpture. All techniques involved will be explained and demonstrated as the students complete their own project.

Advanced Figure Fabric Sculpting using Paverpol medium over a wire armature. The class time will be used for constructing a wire armature, building out with foil, wrapping with cottom fiber to create the basic figure. The figure will then be mounted to a base and clothed with fabric and accessories. Portions of the sculpture will be created with Magic-Sculpt. The sculpture will be finished to simulate cast bronze. The sculpture will dry to a permanent hard surface sculpture. All techniques involved will be explained and demonstrated as the students complete their own project.

Mixed Media Sculpting with Paverpol and Magic-Sculpt. A free form sculpture will be created using wire, wood, foam, and fabric. The sculpture will be a free stading abstract sculpture finished to resemble polished and rusted metal. The sculpture will dry to a permanent hard surface sculpture. All techniques involved will be explained and demonstrated as the students complete their own project.
